Douglas learning app, centralized training for multiple locations and community-building, brand activation for learning

Challenge



When Douglas partnered with us in 2022, they already had a physical training center in the Netherlands, Douglas Academy. The goal was to streamline training processes and build a learning ecosystem connecting and upskilling employees from all their stores globally.

Together, we focused on enhancing their teams' product expertise and delivering better customer service, while building a stronger Douglas community.

What we built together



We set up the Douglas Learning app and enhanced their physical academy with social learning and bite-sized trainings that actually felt like Douglas - engaging, professional and never boring.

98 training courses that cover everything from basic onboarding to in-depth product knowledge, including exclusive courses from luxury brands like Dior and Sensai.
Social Wall
This in-app feature became the beating heart of Douglas's learning community. Teams shared best practices, celebrated standout colleagues through 'Douglas Stars' posts, and stayed up to date with all things Douglas!

Learning Activations


During the holiday season, a peak time for retail, Douglas looked for efficient ways to train their staff. Instead of PDFs and PowerPoints, we took a different route with "A Very Douglas Christmas" - turning the company's seasonal training into a story-driven activation.

4 microlearning courses were packed with quizzes and challenges, offering an interactive and fun way to learn.

The activation sparked 1,400 quiz completions in the courses, and generated nearly 1k likes on shared content on the wall.

Results


We strengthened the Douglas Academy with a digital-first, customized learning environment including:

A shift from individual to peer-to-peer learning, where employees discuss, exchange and grow together.

Fast and efficient way to deliver knowledge, with a possibility of company-wide or targeted training for local store operations.

Adaptive learning paths enable each employee to close their knowledge gaps and progress at their own pace.
Impact
Starting in 2022 with 2,000 users across the Netherlands and Belgium, the project grew to a community of 25,000 people all across Europe. Our solution was scaled and became Douglas' main learning platform.
