According to Belgian law, truck drivers must follow mandatory training every 5 years. This is known as a 'professional competence' and is indicated as code 95 on their driving license. TVM solutions, the training center of TVM Belgium, provides this training in the country.

Digitalization of the code 95 certification training, available within UQ Learn app

Challenges

The code 95 training was previously only given in a classroom setting. This approach faced several challenges: fixed schedules, passive learning, and no reliable way to verify knowledge retention.

Solution

We helped TVM solutions digitalize the theoretical part of the code 95 training 'Efficient and safe on the road'. The theory is now available in our UQ Learn app, allowing truck drivers across Flanders to complete training online—anytime and anywhere.

• Training is organized into microlearning modules that are easy to follow
• Visual elements—videos, photos, and illustrations—enhance retention
• Game-based challenges and interactive tests increase engagement

Knowledge checks
Before moving forward to the next module, drivers have mandatory checks. This ensures better retention.
Training approved by the Flemish Government

The Department of Mobility and Public Works has approved the online code 95 training — which allows truck drivers to earn credit points. An important milestone in making professional driver training more flexible and accessible.

Results

Increased flexibility: drivers learn at their own pace.

A clear progress map and completion tracking from start to finish.

Higher engagement and better knowledge retention than traditional classroom training.
Impact
The course includes built-in 'self-reflection' questions to gather insights from every driver, helping identify and address real workplace challenges in the future.
